On Saturday, June 4th approximately 150 family, friends and DU Alumni gathered during Reunion weekend for a party on the grounds of our old fraternity house. It was, in many respects, the end of an era and the beginning of a new one as DU brothers celebrated their past and looked forward to a bright new future on campus.
Art Saunders, who for many years has single-handedly published and distributed The Trumpet and served as the principal organizer of our Reunion Weekend events was honored with the Key Leader Award from Delta Upsilon International Fraternity for his years of faithful service to the Demosthenean Club.
Scott Stieler ’87 and members of the Alumni Board’s New Building Committee led interested DU Alumni on a tour of the recently completed Lamda Chi and KDR fraternity houses. The group toured potential sites for the new DU house and an outstanding location was selected.
One very special guest at the festivities was our longtime cook Ruth Haines, who, with her countless stories and infectious spirit, reminded us all what special bonds we share as DU Alumni.
